Any ideas?

Hello.  I'm 20 and until recently I was going to a good college and on my way to living my dream.   Then I moved out of my house and all of a sudden things fell apart.  I had a job and got laid off, I can't get a loan and I've been searching for a long time for a job and have had no luck.  I live in the city of Chicago, and I just want to know if anyone has any ideas about getting a job. I've applied to several jobs and haven't recevied any response, even when I called.  I jsut want ideas, or a nice job offer.  Thanks

Thank you.  I have been applying to some positions in person, but I'm sure I could do it more often.  I appreciate the advice.  :)

I was in sales, and I learned a long time ago that you have to sell yourself. This means, if you aren't, apply in person. Shake hands, look people in the eye, and say your name repeatedly. "Hi, my name is Peanut, how are you? (Conversation goes) Well thank you very much. Again, my name is Peanut, and I look forward to speaking to you soon.
